Gorditas Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb of beef (ground)
1 tsp of garlic-salt
1 onion (small); chopped
1 c of water
1/4 tsp of pepper
1/4 tsp of chili seasoning
2 c of masa-harina
2 Tbsps of cheese (Longhorn)
1 tsp of baking-powder
2 fried bacon pieces; crumbled
4 tsps of salt
Lettuce; shredded
Tomatoes;diced
Cheese; shredded
Instructions:
Fry the onions & beef together then season w/ pepper, salt, chili seaoning & garlic-salt.
Meanwhile, manually mix 2 tsps of salt, flour, baking powder, water, bacon & cheese. Pinch a part of the dough then roll it into 2″ balls. Pat then flatten into 1/2-inch thick & 3-inches diameter.
Have then fried in heated oil ’til browned, turn once then drain. Create a small slit across middle part then slightly open like that of a shell of taco then stuff w/ meat-mixture, cheese, tomatoes & lettuce. Serve w/ chile sauce as desired.
