Refried Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb of dried beans (pinto); remove rocks and bad beans
3 pcs cloves of garlic
1 Tbsp of salt
1 Tbsp of sugar (refined)
3/4 c of bacon fat
Instructions;
Wash beans and place on a pot; add sugar and cover with (cold) water. Let it boil then cover; simmer it for three hrs till beans become soft. Add more water as necessary, keeping water level somehow over the beans. Add half cup of bacon fat, garlic, and salt; cook for one hour and stir occasionally.
This can also be continued for four hrs or more if there’s enough amount of water. Melt the quarter cup of bacon fat on a skillet then add the beans till reheated; stir occasionally. Mash them till somehow crusty and dry; stir occasionally. Season salt when necessary.
